Dear Prisk Family,
Happy Spring! It is with a wide array of emotions that I write this, my last article as your PTA President. I can hardly believe that I am finished with this PTA role, and that the time has come for my family to enjoy our 12th and final year at Prisk with Jacob as a 5th grader beginning in September. It seems like just yesterday he was a pre schooler running through the halls with his curly locks, helping me with many different PTA and Room Parent tasks.
Although my 2 year term as President is almost complete, I’ll be around to share what I have learned next year with our new Board Members. I feel confident that our school and PTA will continue to thrive and accomplish wonderful things for the Prisk community because it is being left in very capable hands. Lori Smith will do a wonderful job as your PTA president – she is sharp, hard-working, and kind. The executive board elect is full of wonderful volunteers who I am sure will work hard to make these next two years fun and exciting for your kids. I am also excited to see new parent faces who have been stepping up to get involved and help make Prisk such a wonderful place for kids to learn and grow.
Thank you for a great year. Prisk continues to be a busy school with a variety of PTA, Foundation, and school events for our kids. The only thing I can thing to say is THANK YOU for your willingness to serve our school, whether it is volunteering in your child’s classroom, going on field trips, supporting our fundraisers or being an active member of the PTA. We recorded over 11,000 volunteer hours this school year and that is primarily from the Board Members, chairpersons, and those volunteers that sign in at the office. I know that many of you have given your time and talents as well. It is people like you along with our dedicated staff, excellent teachers and nurturing educators, and our Super Star Principal that make Prisk the wonderful school it is!
Our 9th annual Fun Run was in March; we were all so happy that the weather cooperated this year. Our students turned in $27,777.00 in donations this year!!! At this time, I do not know the exact amount of expenses, but I believe we are just slightly over 2012’s profit. This marks another Fun Run record for Prisk!! This is AWESOME news for our PTA, Teachers, and students! Our chairpersons, Alyssa LeCesne and JoAnna Aubel did a wonderful job. I tip my hat to you two and your committee.
To round out the school year, PTA will organize a fabulous teacher luncheon and week of thanks during Staff Appreciation week the end of May. The PTA will be sending three members (Lori Smith, Julian Kitchens, and Maggie Schrag) to the annual PTA State Convention this year in San Jose. For the second year in a row, we were awarded a free convention registration since 100% of our teachers are PTA Members (thank you!)! Convention provides training for how we can better serve the children at our school and in our community.
Thank you again for your continued support and I wish a FABULOUS SUMMER VACATION. See you at the beach!

$10,000 Prize Winners!!

Happy to report...Prisk was a first place winner with $10,000. There were 160 videos and 30 winners. The grand prize was $20,000 and there was a 2000 vote difference between the grand prize winners and ours. Although we did not win the grand prize, this is a huge accomplishment for Prisk! Thank you, thank you to everyone that took time to get on line to vote. Those votes made a difference!
If you did not receive this in an email, get yourself added by emailing priskpta@gmail.com. It's that easy!
